Painted Grace Ministries was founded in 2025 by Lynda Hepler,  who wanted to create a space where people of all ages and skill level can come to discover their God given creativity. In 2026, construction began on Painted Grace Art Studio, that will provide a space for art classes, open studio days, retreats, spiritual direction groups and special events.

Yes, we welcome volunteers to help us with various tasks such as studio sitting, event support, and administrative work. Contact us for more information and to apply.

Our studio is suitable for all age groups (Elementary age to adult). We offer a range of programs and activities for children, youth, and adults, including workshops, classes, and family-friendly events.

Group Spiritual Direction is composed of small groups (no larger than 5 to a group) that is facilitated by a spiritual director. In these groups, participants get to share, spend time in holy listening to God, self and others with prayer as we discern our life journeys.

At Painted Grace, group spiritual direction uses art in the process of self-discovery. This could be in the form of visual/creative prompts for discussion starters to visual/creative responses to a prompt and/or discussion. No art experience is needed – it's not about the final product but the process! No one will judge your creative work.

Yes! I create each icon by hand. I paint using the traditional egg tempera method with natural pigments that are applied to a board (solid wood or masonite) that has been gessoed. After completion, the icon can be varnished with natural beeswax or a polyurethane.

I would allow 4-6 weeks for icon creation start to finish plus applicable shipping time. Contact Lynda for a more concise timeline for your project.

Yes. The studio is open for rental for small groups, no larger than 16 people for day retreats, meeting space, home school groups, birthday parties/showers, etc. Contact us to get a quote for your specific needs and studio availability.
